The Development Affecting Conservation Areas Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) gives more guidance on how national policy is interpreted in the local context, and the guidance applies to new developments and works to existing buildings, as well as demolition of existing structures in conservation areas.
Government legislation and policy may have changed since the Development Affecting Conservation Areas since the Listed Buildings SPD was adopted in 2009. References relating to permitted development or the need for planning permission should be clarified using the Government's Planning Portal or with the Planning Duty Officer.
Adoption of the Development Affecting Conservation Areas SPD
The Development Affecting Conservation Areas SPD was adopted by South Cambridgeshire District Council in January 2009.
