The Foxton Neighbourhood Plan was made (adopted) on 5 August 2021 [PDF, 17MB].
The Foxton Neighbourhood Plan as made now forms part of the development plan for South Cambridgeshire. All planning decisions in the neighbourhood area will need to comply with the development plan (that now includes the Neighbourhood Plan), unless material considerations indicate otherwise.
Neighbourhood area designated
On 17 November 2015 the Planning Portfolio Holder designated the Foxton neighbourhood area.
Strategic Environmental Assessment / Habitat Regulations Assessment screening
South Cambridgeshire District Council and Foxton Parish Council have undertaken a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) screening of the draft Foxton Neighbourhood Plan.

Pre-submission consultation (Regulation 14)
Foxton Parish Council carried out public consultation on the draft (pre-submission) Foxton Neighbourhood Plan from 15 May to 26 June 2019.
Submission public consultation (Regulation 16)
Foxton Parish Council submitted the Foxton Neighbourhood Plan and its supporting documents to South Cambridgeshire District Council on 10 February 2020.
A public consultation on the submission version of the Neighbourhood Plan was carried out between 12 January and 23 February 2021.

Examination (Regulation 17)
Foxton Neighbourhood Plan was submitted for examination on 24 February 2021. The independent examiner appointed to carry out the examination was Andrew Freeman.
The final Examiner's Report was received on 20 April 2021.

Referendum
The Director for Planning agreed to proceed to referendum in June 2021, and the referendum on the Foxton Neighbourhood Plan took place on 22 July 2021.
The results of the referendum were:
- Yes votes: 315 (96.33%)
- No votes: 12 (3.67%)
- Turnout: 31.62%
